Privacy and code handling

RepoLumen stores uploaded files, repository snapshots, parsed artifacts, generated walkthroughs, and audio so your workspace can reopen later. Access is tied to your authenticated account.

RepoLumen reads source code and notebook cells to build explanations. It does not execute uploaded scripts or notebook cells as part of the analysis workflow.

Selected repository context may be sent to configured Google Cloud AI services to generate explanations, embeddings, chat answers, and voice narration. These processors receive only the context needed for the requested feature, such as relevant files, snippets, symbols, prompts, and narration text.

RepoLumen uses trusted cloud providers for authentication, storage, databases, hosting, logging, queues, AI processing, embeddings, and text-to-speech. Billing and checkout are handled through Polar. These providers process data only to operate RepoLumen and related billing workflows.

We keep account, billing status, usage counters, job status, audit events, logs, and error metadata needed to operate the service, prevent abuse, debug failures, enforce plan limits, and improve reliability.

Repository uploads, analysis artifacts, generated guides, and audio are kept while the project remains in your workspace. Operational logs and billing records may be retained longer when needed for security, debugging, accounting, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

Deleting a project removes the project record and related analysis records from your workspace. Settings also provides self-serve account data deletion for projects, uploads, generated artifacts, usage records, audit events, and Team workspace seats tied to the account. Some billing, security, and backup records may remain for a limited period when required for legitimate operational or legal reasons.

Do not upload credentials, private keys, tokens, production secrets, or data you are not allowed to process with RepoLumen. If you accidentally upload sensitive material, delete the project and contact support so we can help with follow-up cleanup.

Access to workspace data is tied to authenticated accounts and enforced by backend authorization. RepoLumen does not intentionally sell repository contents or generated walkthrough data.
